Description

Inrad Optics is seeking organized and detail-oriented individuals to add to our growing manufacturing team. No prior experience is required; we train all new hires! The main purpose of this position is to set-up, operate, and maintain Crystal & Custom Optical fabrication machines to perform precision beveling, grinding, contacting, and CNC operations. Key responsibilities

  • Read, understand and follow customer blueprints, internal blueprints and job travelers.
  • Block and de-block parts onto blocking plates with various media (wax, paraffin, pitch buttons).
  • Inspect mechanical dimensions and angles using various inspection equipment (x-ray goniometer, micrometers, calipers and indicators.
  • Block, string cut core, and turn diameter and mill in-house grown crystal to blue print specifications
  • Operate Blanchards, OD saws and ID saws, Bridgeports and lathes
  • Maintain and clean Bridgeports, lathes, string saws and other machinery which includes scheduled maintenance per operations manuals.
  • Fill out required W/O time sheets and other procedural documents.
  • Clean and maintain own work area, work station or any other station used on a daily basis.
