A Thermally Stable Ultraviolet Transmitting Filter Material

UVC7 is a proprietary single crystal material ideally suited to filtering ultraviolet light in solar blind, sensing and other applications whose temperatures can challenge conventional UV filter crystals.

Formulated specifically to improve high thermal stability without sacrificing UV transmission, UVC7 will tolerate temperatures as high as 125˚C in an enclosed system. At the same time, it has UV transmission properties similar to those of nickel sulfate, a commonly used filter material.

  • Large Sizes. UVC7 components are available in diameters to 38 mm and thicknesses to 50 mm.
  • Orientation and Finishing. Crystals are typically oriented with the light path along the z-axis of the crystal, which provides the greatest light attenuation. Polished faces typically are flat to λ/4 @ 633 nm with 80/60 surface quality. Faces are parallel to within 15 arcminutes.
